At the Board of County Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Michael Barnett presented Nancy G. Brinker with a proclamation commemorating her exceptional contributions to health equity and her tireless advocacy for women’s health.
The proclamation officially recognizes Aug. 4, 2024, as Nancy G. Brinker Day in Palm Beach County, honoring her profound impact on this community and beyond.
Nancy G. Brinker, a three-time Ambassador and esteemed author, has dedicated her life to the fight against breast cancer. Inspired by a promise made to her beloved sister, Susan G. Komen, Mrs. Brinker has transformed the landscape of breast cancer awareness and prevention, leaving an indelible mark on the global health community.
The establishment of the Promise Fund of Florida in 2018 further exemplifies her commitment to breaking down barriers to healthcare access and increasing survivorship of breast and cervical cancer in South Florida. Her visionary leadership continues to inspire and mobilize individuals worldwide to advocate for health equity for all.
“I am deeply humbled by this recognition and grateful for the opportunity to continue my life’s work alongside such dedicated individuals. Together, we can create a world where every person has access to the care they need to live a healthy and fulfilling life,” said Nancy Brinker.
“I am privileged to honor Nancy Brinker for her lifetime work, impacting not just Palm Beach County but our nation and the world” said Commissioner Michael A. Barnett. “She has admirably dedicated herself to the fight against breast cancer and helping countless women, regardless of their socioeconomic status. On behalf of Palm Beach County, I want to thank Mrs. Brinker. We are proud to have you and your organizations in our community.”
