A Call to Action During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Nancy G. Brinker | October 1, 2024
As we mark the beginning of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, we come together to honor the courage of breast cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones. This is a time for reflection, remembrance, and renewed commitment to the fight against a disease that affects millions of women and men around the world. Over the years, we have made remarkable progress, thanks to advancements in early detection, treatment, and education. But the work is far from done.
Breast cancer remains one of the most diagnosed cancers, and for too many, access to care remains out of reach. Throughout this month, we focus not only on raising awareness but also on driving action—ensuring that every person, regardless of background or income, has the resources and support they need. From increased screenings to groundbreaking research, we must continue to invest in life-saving efforts.
I encourage everyone to take this month as a call to action: schedule your mammograms, support impactful organizations like The Promise Fund that are making a difference, and educate your communities about the importance of early detection. Together, we can continue the progress toward a future without breast cancer.
